The Jedi Holocron

My creation is a 12-sided figure loosely patterned after the Death Star. When opened, it represents a few models from Tatooine. Inside are 6 Jawas, 3 R2s, a Sandcrawler, a Ronto, the Millennium Falcon , aLandspeeder, 2 Dewbacks, 5 Banthas, a Sky hopper, and Jabba the Hutt. It took about 3 weeks to create.

I was inspired to make the first Holocron after seeing one of the creations of origami artist Kunihiko Kasahara. This masterpiece consisted of 1 large 6-sided box which opened up to reveal 8 smaller boxes. Each of the smaller boxes opened to reveal a scene based on one of the 4 seasons.
