Republic venator cruiser
The Venator-class Attack Cruiser was the second generation of ‘Star Destroyers’. (The first being the Acclamator-class assault ship). The Venator was designed as a multi-role warship capable of space and atmospheric operations, capital ship to ship combat, escort, and transport duties.
The cruiser had a crew of over 7000, was armed with 8 heavy turbolasers turrets, Medium and point defense cannons, torpedo tubes, tractor beams, and could carry over 400 starfighters and 2000 clonetroopers.
Sometimes when I’m bored, I will randomly fold a piece of paper. This is the origami equivalent of doodling. Every so often, one of these doodles will have an interesting shape that I think may be useful for making something else later. I have a box of these things.
A YouTuber named William Gauthier suggested I design the Venator. That’s when I remembered I had a doodle in the box that would be a great start for the cruiser. I spent literally a month trying to figure out how I’d arrived at one key step. Once that was done, I was able to finish the design that day.
