At the start of the Clone Wars the Separatist forces mass produced droid vulture starfighters. Thus they were able to quickly achieve space superiority in combat theaters. The Republic response was the V-19 Torrent Starfighter. Even though the V-19 could be produced in numbers to match the vulture fighters it still took time to train the clone pilots. As a result the Torrent didn’t make an impact until the later stages of the war.
Even though the V-19 appears in many episodes of the Clone Wars series, It never caught my attention. I thought the design was simplistic when compared to other ships, like the Arc-170 or TIE fighters. Then one YouTuber requested I design it. I took a fresh look at it and decided it would be perfect for an Easy level model.
