Poe Dameron is the best fighter pilot in the resistance.  He was born on Yavin IV, 2 years after the first Death Star was destroyed, and grew up with the influence of pilots of the Rebellion.  As soon as he was old enough he joined the New Republic’s Defense Fleet.  His piloting skills and leadership abilities caught the attention of his wing leaders and he was given command of a squadron of X-Wings.  Under his command, Black Squadron quickly became a thorn in the side of The First Order.  Poe led Black Squadron in the destruction of Starkiller Base.

Dameron’s T-70 X-Wings are painted with a distinctive black and orange schemes. This makes him easily recognizable in a dog fight by both his squadron mates and the enemy.  Considering his reputation as an ace fighter pilot, this can either boost the morale or rattle the nerves of other pilots in the frey… depending on which side they’re flying for.
