sebulba's pod racer
“Your buddy here was about to be turned into orange goo. He picked a fight with a dug, an especially dangerous dug called Sebulba”.
Sebulba was a famous pod racer and notorious cheater. His orange podracer featured 2 huge Split-X engines held together by a plasma energy binder. The pod cockpit was towed behind the engines on steelton cables. The engines were loud, intimidating, and of course fitted with illegal flame throwers. Sebulba liked to win, and if he had to torch, smash, ram, or toss slag into the engines of other racers, it was the price other racers would have to pay so he could cross the finish line first.
I wanted to include this pod racer into Star Wars Origami 2 to tie both books together. Since Anakin’s pod racer was in the first book, I put a few restrictions on myself. Sebulba’s would have to be made from the same sized equilateral triangle, end up being roughly the same scale as Anakin’s, and use the same color change to represent the sand and the racer itself. It was more of a challenge than I expected.
