Republic Gunship ( LAAT / i )
The Low Altitude Assault Transport, or Republic Gunship, served several roles in the Clone Wars. It was armed with chin and tail mounted turrets, side and wing ball turrets, and 2 dorsal rocket launchers making it well suited for both air-to-ground and air-to-air support roles. The crew consisted of two pilots and 2 gunners, and it could deliver up to 30 troops to the battlefield.
I designed a version of the LAAT several years ago, but I wasn’t happy with it. The meager amount of detail wasn’t worth the work required to make it. It was also too small compared to the starting square. Recently Youtuber Joseph Bluhm asked for a version of the gunship. I revisited my original version and made one tiny proportional change, and it fixed all the issues!
