The razor crest
The Razor Crest is The Mandalorian’s ship and home. While not heavily armored and equipped with only 2 laser cannons, she’s sturdy and dependable. The gunship was originally designed for patrol sorties and short range operations during the Clone Wars.
Designing the origami Razor Crest was more of a challenge than I expected. My first designs were more or less flat with 3 dimensional engines. Other than the engines and the hull, the ship doesn’t have many details. (my final design omits the laser cannons) I’d present these flat hulled versions to my friends, and the scenes played out like this.
Me “What do you think of it?”
Friend “What is it?”
Me “mumble grumble… back to the drawing board”
Once I added a 3 dimensional hull the model was recognizable.
