Mon Calamari MC80 Cruiser

The Rebel Alliance never had the infrastructure to build capital ships, so it made do with what they had. To fill the need for capital ships, the Mon Calamari converted a fleet of passenger liners into warships. They were heavily armed and armored and could carry squadrons of starfighters into battle. While no match in a one on one contest with an Imperial Star Destroyer, The fleets they were a part of were more than adequate to liberate the galaxy from the Imperial yoke.
When I’m designing a new origami model I find it helpful to have a small version of the object for reference. One afternoon I stumbled across a 2 inch version of the Mon Calamari cruiser. There are practically no details on that scale to work with, just an overall shape. Which made it perfect for a simple beginner level origami model. if you’re looking to get into origami, this model would be a good place to start.
