jango and boba fett
Jango Fett was a Mandalorian warrior who became a legendary bounty hunter. Ruthless yet honorable, he was selected by Darth Tyranus (Count Dooku) to become the genetic template for the clone army of the republic. Aside from a cash payment, Jango also asked for an unaltered clone that he could raise as his son.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Boba Fett became the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy. While his armor looked battered and worn, it held many hidden weapons, including rocket darts, a flame thrower, and a rocket pack with a guided missile.
But the most effective weapon the Fetts used was their cunning, preferring to outwit and trap their quarry rather than use brute force.
Just about all origami figures start with edge-to-edge or point-to-point folds for the first few steps. I was experimenting with ways to make models that didn’t start this way. One day I made three folds more or less at random and was happy to discover I had made the distinctive visor in Boba Fett’s helmet. It took about 15 minutes to reshape the helmet and add the range finder. This is one of those cases where the figure pretty much made itself. When I was asked to do origami classes during Celebration III I chose to teach this figure. It is one of the easier projects in my book and Kids have a choice of making Boba or Jango Fett using the same diagrams.
The young man is Daniel Logan. He played the 10 year old Boba Fett. The older man is Temuera Morrison who starred as Jango Fett. As you can see, both the elder and younger Fett appreciated the replacement helmets I made. Their old ones were dented and could use a fresh coat of paint.
