Ezra Bridger's Helmet
Ezra Bridger was an orphan living on Lothal when he met Kanan Jarrus and the crew of The Ghost. Kanan, a former Jedi padawan, recognized Ezra’s force abilities and tried to train him in the ways of the Jedi. During his training he encountered Maul, the former Sith Lord. Maul tried to lure him to the dark side but Ezra resisted and continued to train with Kanan.
Ezra and the rest of the crew made up one cell within the Rebel Alliance. Their focus was to freeing Lothal from the Empire. In the final conflict, Ezra confronted Admiral Thrawn on his Star Destroyer. The Star Destroyer was attacked by a herd of Purrgil, Huge creatures that live in deep space. Using the force, Ezra convinced the Purrgil to drag the destroyer into hyperspace, which allowed the rest of the rebels to eliminate the imperial garrison and free Lothal.
Youtuber Vithialingam Geetha is an Ezra fan and requested a model of the character. As I’ve mentioned before, a specific human figure is nearly impossible to design in origami. Since Ezra lacks distinctive features to work with, I decided to make his helmet. My first thought was to modify the First Order helmet, but I couldn’t get the side flaps to come out right. Once I gave up on that approach, the model fell into place. I had created a video tutorial and was all set to post it, when I thought about the eye lenses. I realized I could improve on the design and make it more accurate. I debated between tossing out 3 days work, or doing it right. *sigh* being a perfectionist does have its down side.
