Darth Maul's Speeder
Darth Maul’s Sith speeder was a small one person repulsor craft designed for speed rather than comfort. It was fast and maneuverable, making it the perfect vehicle for pursuing fleeing targets.
Maul used it on Tatooine to track down Queen Amidala, which led to his first confrontation with Qui-Gon Jinn.
Back in 1999, just after Episode I was released, I started working on a model of a battle droid riding a STAP. One of the failed attempts showed some potential, so I put it away to work on later. ‘Later’ turned out to be 20 years! I found the attempt being used as a bookmark in an unrelated origami book. With a little reworking it became Darth maul’s Bloodfin speeder.
